What you should know about Terry:

As of January 2016 I have fished in 198 American Bass Angler tournaments.  I have fished in 7 National Championship tournaments and two regional tournaments.

How Terry started fishing

Started fishing with my Dad, Granddad, and Uncles in 1951 when I was 5 years old.  I started bass tournament fishing with Boeing Bass Club in 1997.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

Fishing with my friends and beating them once in a while

Favorite way to fish

Pitching softbaits.  It is more fun than power fishing although I like topwater a lot.

Most exciting fishing experience

Too many to pick one.

How Terry preps for a tournament

Same as everyone else.  Reline, retie, pick baits.  Once in a while I will prefish.

Three favorite search baits

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

When tournaments don't go my way

I don't worry about it.  The fun and enjoyment of being on the water and visiting with my friends is reward enough win, place, or lose.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Spend a lot of time on the water.  Try different baits.  Learn how to present the various baits.  Learn the seasonal patterns of the fish.  Do not start tournament fishing with high expetations,  Learn for each tournament and apply lessons learned.  ALWAYS BE A GOOD SPORTMAN AND RESPECT OTHERS.
