McGovern wins D49 at Lake Ozark

Tom McGovern of Warsaw, MO won the American Fishing Tour Division 49 tournament held 03/24/2018 on Lake Ozark.  Running out of Shawnee Bend Tom brought back 4 fish to the scales for a total weight of 7.37 pounds.  He took home $543for his victory.

Second place was claimed by Bruce Gandy of Springfield, MO with 3 fish that went for 5.43 pounds.  He collected $329 for his efforts.

Tom Waters of Independence, MO only brought back on fish to the scales, but it was big enough to claim Third place and Big Bass.  His fish locked in at in impressive 5.17 pounds.  Tom took home $298 for his fish.

Well it was a great day to fish, but the fish didn't bite well. There was a total 19 different tournaments on Lake Ozark today not many limits were caught and many came in with blanks.  Division 49 had 14 out of 20 anglers bring fish to the scales.

The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round Fish-Off. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
