Greenman Catches the Win on Lake Hopatcong


Steve Greenman, of Reading, PA, won the Ram American Fishing Tour New Jersey Division 10 tournament held on April 3rd at Lake Hopatcong.  Steve caught five bass weighing 12.86 pounds to take first place and weighed in a 4.32-pound kicker to claim the big bass of the day, bringing home $376 for the day. He caught most of his fish using jerk baits.

In second among the competitors Matt Stark, of Hopatcong, NJ caught three fish weighing 7.80 pounds. Stark was also using jerk baits. Matt collected a check for $163.

Greg Del Russo, of Hopatcong ,NJ captured the big fish optional pot with a 4.82 pound Largemouth.  The big fish option was worth $45. Greg was throwing a square bill crankbait.

These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, Ram American Fishing Tour National Championship.

The American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All ABA anglers fish for money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the US are invited to the American Fishing Tour National Championship for this fall on Lake Eufaula, AL.
