 My wonderful Wife!!!!

What James does for a living:

I am a Curriculum Development Manager for the United States Air Force.  I write the courses for the new Airmen that are going to Technical School so they can learn their new job. Prior to that I was an AMMO troop in the Air Force.

What you should know about James:

How James started fishing

My Dad and Grandpa started me out in local ponds and at Lake Gaston Va.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

To learn as much as possible and to share that with my children and my non-boaters.

Favorite way to fish

Crank baits and soft plastics.  These are my confidence baits. I love the feel when a fish nails a Crank and I think I'm hung on a tree then I feel the tug.  I enjoy a soft plastic because thats the way my Dad fished.

Most exciting fishing experience

When my kids started fishing.

How James prep for a tournament

I over think and then get on the water and throw all of that out of the window and just fish.  I also watch the weather conditions to see how the wind is going to be.

Three favorite search baits

I only have one and it's a Crank bait.

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

A day on Lake Grapevine TX. I got on one of the biggest schools of big fish and ended up wighing in 25.44 pounds. I fished a wind blown (30mphish) rock wall all day.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Figuring out what the fish want to crush that day.

When tournaments don't go my way

I get upset with myself and then I try to figure out why I stunk it up so bad.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Learn as much as you can by watching other anglers and keep notes on each lake. Never give up!!!!!

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

Pick up a crankbait and a moderate medium rod, look for rocks or isolated cover and just go fish.
