RODNEY SORENSEN WINS ON JACKSON

Congratulations to Rodney Sorensen of Gray, Ga for taking the win at Lake Jackson on April 28, 2018  for the AFT D72 tournament.  Rodney found his fish very shallow using a brush hog.  His five fish sack weighed in at 13.04 pounds, and Rodney took home $723 for the first place finish.

CARL HAYES WINS AFT D72 ON OCONEE

Warm weather brought out 46 anglers to Lake Oconee for D72 on April 14, 2018. Carl Hayes of Eatonton, Ga had a 5 fish limit weighing 17.54 pounds to secure the win.  He was fishing shallow using spinnerbaits and top water lures.  Carl won $813 for the first place payout.

JUSTIN LANIER TAKES THE WIN ON SINCLAIR

Justin Lanier of Macon, Ga dominated the field of 46 anglers on March 24, 2018 at Lake Sinclair for AFT Division 72.  His five bass weighed 17.79 pounds to secure the win.  Justin was fishing shallow in stained water with a spinnerbait when he caught a 6.11 pounder, which helped him win the pot for Big Bass.  His total earnings for the day was $1,043.

Tim Greene of Loganville, Ga brought in a limit of 5 bass weighing 13.91 pounds to take the win on March 10th, at Lake Oconee for D72. Tim won $723 and moved up in the points standings.

Randall Woodham of Social Circle, Ga was able to navigate the thick fog
and bring in a 5-fish limit weighing 11.72 pounds for the win on Lake Oconee
for D72 on February 10, 2018.  Randall caught his fish on a jig, and he
went home with $695 for the day.

Robert Barker wins D72 on Oconee

Robert Barker of Monticello, Ga was the only angler to bring a 5 fish limit to the scale at Lake Oconee on January 13, 2018 for D72.   Robert caught his fish totaling 12.72 pounds on crank baits, and won $539 for 1st place.

Mike Blackshear Takes the win on Sinclair

Athens, Ala. - D72 had a great turnout of 34 anglers at Lake Sinclair on December 16th, 2018.   It was chilly morning at blast off with the temperature sitting around 27 degrees.  34 Anglers blasted off from The Little River Marina near Milledgeville, GA., but it was Mike Blackshear that brought back the winning sack.

Barry Stokes of Oxford, GA took first place for the AFT D72 event on April 22rd at Lake Oconee. Barry won with a weight of 18.03 pounds. Barry said he caught his fish on a Underground tackle jig and a spinnerbait around walls and wood in 4 to 6 ft of water. He won $579 for his efforts. He also received $115 for big fish with a 5.59 pound bass. 
Second place was Rodney Sorenson of Gray, GA with a total weight of 10.33 pounds. Rodney took home $346 for his efforts.

ABA Hall of Fame Member David Fox Passes

"It is with sad heart that we bid farewell to Dave Fox, American Bass Anglers Tournament Director from Central Georgia. Dave has been a member of ABA sense the early 1980’s and been an active tournament director for the American Fishing Tour Division 72 and the Georgia American Couples Series.   After a distinguished career in the US Air Forces Dave and wife Ann Marie settled in Warner Robins Georgia to peruse another career and fish. Dave had a passion for fishing and was always a friend to everyone and a mentor to the younger generation.  Dave and Ann Marie built the Georgia ABA divisions to one of the strongest in the country.  Among his many decorations and accolades was his induction into the American Bass Anglers Hall of Fame in 2011.  Dave led by example and will be missed by all".

Visitaton for Dave will be Thursday, December 29, 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at McCullough Funeral Home, 417 S. Houston Lake Rd., Warner Robins, GA.

Funeral will be held Friday, December 30 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2410 GA Hwy  127, Kathleen, GA at 11:00 AM followed by burial at Andersonville National Cemetery.

Brian Bishop of Hadock, Georgia won first place for AFT D72 held on Lake Sinclair on November 5th. Brian topped the field with a total weight of 11.64 pounds. Brian took home $723 for his efforts.
